I went surfing for the first time this week.
To be more accurate, I went falling into the water.
Surfing is challenging and requires energy and skill.
It was not something that came naturally to me.
But I wanted to try a new activity.
Maybe surfing was an undiscovered passion, although I’ll likely stick to hockey and tennis!
In life (and marketing), experiments keep things interesting and exciting.
You look for experiences to learn, discover passions, learn new skills, and take on challenges.
Without experiments, life is boring. Your horizons are never expanded by doing the same thing every day.
Like my struggles with surfing, you will experience failure and frustration.
But it’s fine if you acknowledge that failure is a step in the journey that sparks new directions and discoveries.
Amid volatile economic times, it’s a perfect time to think out of the box, experiment and take small risks.
You have little to lose and a lot to gain.
