If you’re not different, you’re just like everyone else.

In an ultra-competitive market, being different isn’t just important, it’s crucial.

Many companies walk and talk like you do. They have the same benefits, features, prices, marketing, and sales.

You blend into the crowd if you don’t stand out.

My advice:
Develop strategic positioning and update it regularly.
Focus on the things that make you different or better, even if they’re minor.
Talk to your customers to discover how they think you’re different.
Research competitors to determine their positioning.
Talk to internal stakeholders and employees for their guidance.
Do industry research to capitalize on new interesting trends.

You have no choice but to stand out from the crowd. If you’re not different, you’re the same and that’s a dangerous place to be.
