Who are Canada’s hottest startups?

It is a challenging (impossible?) question to answer because “hot” can be defined in many ways: revenue growth, capital raised, awards won, media coverage, the disruptive potential of a product or technology, etc. Another variable is how to define a “startup”. At what stage does a business graduate from startup to small business?

In other words, it can be a fool’s game to create a definitive “hot startup” list, which may or may not have much value other than giving startups the opportunity to wave the flag. 

Nevertheless, let’s collectively create a list of Canada’s hottest startups. I have bravely ventured into the fray by tapping into a variety of sources: Metabridge, Branham’s Up & Coming ICT, Deloitte’s Companies to Watch, PWC’s Vision to Reality Awards and 48 Hours in Valley’s 2015 cohort, and adding some personal choices.
